Donations

Orphan children are among the most vulnerable people on earth. We have made a commitment to them and you can also. Help make a difference and plant a seed of love and hope in the life of an orphan child by making a donation to HOE Ministries. HOE Ministries is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donations to HOE Ministries are tax-deductible. We understand the trust you place in HOE Ministries when you make a donation, and we are committed to effectively use donations according to your expressed preferences.
All the children shown below stay in orphan homes run by Hanna Teshome in Addis Ababa. No more than 10 children stay with a house mother so that they have more of a “family life” . Most of the children do not know their date of birth.

How does sponsorship work?
Your donation to Hanna's orphanage will be shared between the needs of all the children. Your donation to a specific project will be used exclusively for that project. All funds designated for Ethiopia will be managed by our partner in Addis Ababa, Mekinessa Kale Heywet Church (MKHC) through us, to strengthen the relationship between Hanna’s orphanage and the local church as they minister to each other.
For more information, please read our accountability statement.

Consider the privilege and joy of helping to transform a life of brokeness to wholeness with a $30.00 monthly donation towards the support of an orphan. See the list of orphans below right. As you can imagine, once you commit to giving, your continued support becomes critically important.

We have many specific needs that you can contribute towards. Please scroll down to see all the needs!

Hope in a Backpack

backpack
Sponsor a backpack to convey your love and concern and we will hand deliver one to each child we visit in Ethiopia along with a bundle of tender loving care. This makes for a wonderful family, youth group or church project! We request a donation of $35.00 to defray the cost of the backpack and shipping expenses to Ethiopia and filling the backpack with goodies for the children. Previously you could buy and fill your own backpack but we found import taxes to be prohibitively high. We now take empty backpacks from the US to Ethiopia and then fill them there with gifts since it is much more cost efficient.

Sponsor a child at Hanna’s orphanage

We encourage correspondence between you and the child you sponsor. You will receive a photo of the child and periodically updated information of the child's growth and development. Whenever possible, the children are urged to send a handmade gift in gratitude of your support. Nurturing a personal relationship is as significant as your financial support. These children live with the trauma of losing either one of both parents and being uprooted from their homes. Your tender loving care helps in their healing process. See below:
